The Typical Searching Process:

Someone performing a ‘specific’ search will typically:
1) If they know the domain name, type this into a browser address bar, e.g. www.sprite.net
2) Type just a name into the browser address bar.
3) Use a search engine or directory and type in who or what they are searching for.
4) Try to find a link from a known source e.g. industry trade magazine website

Someone performing a ‘non-specific’ search will typically:
1) Begin by searching using a search engine or directory.
2) Try to find a link or information from an authoritative source.
3) Go to a relevant community (web portal, discussion forum, chat room, newsgroup) and ask.
