Challenge:
To explore a stand-alone Internet and video CD-Rom for the Children's
Television Workshop to use as an entertainments vehicle for 5-8
year olds.
Solution:
The Children's Television Workshop
reaches parents (of kids ages 0-14), preschool families, kids 6-14,
and fans of all ages. Alliances with the most powerful partners
on the Web, such as AOL, Excite and Netscape, mean the Workshop
is a leading source on the web for family fun, learning, and resources.
Sprite Interactive developed a solution
for the Children's Television Workshop using two characters called
Ellen and Zak. The Ellen and Zak Internet and Video CD-Rom features
a simple-to-use e-card facility, kids activities, a music and sound
section, a games section and rhymes and stories, all accessed through
a simple-to-use interface, and contained within a non-threatening
interactive window. Ellen and Zak are bold characters, designed
to appeal to a younger audience, and the content of the site clearly
reflects this, with exciting activities and games to keep children
coming back again and again.
